Raising The Front Bumper?
I know I am not the first guy to lift my body on my truck. Anyhow anyone have a decent way of raising the front bumper with out extensive welding?

Re: Raising The Front Bumper?
Might not get too many answers to this one Billy due to the legality of it. Northern states had laws relating to 4 X 4's in a few states that actually made them build a "sub-frame" when they lifted the truck so high. I do remember Florida having bumper height laws in place since the 80's. The bumper height laws are in place so we can't roll over the chebby sports cars. I simply made filler panels for my old style Bronco when I put a 5" body lift on it. Or maybe pirate 4 X 4 forum guys could answer this one better?ford4x4fun on Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:06 pm

Here's one source for the overall height by Florida law:

Re: Raising The Front Bumper?
On my Z71 when I put 3in. body lift on it. I just got a short length of square tube stock that was same length the frame was sticking out pass Grill and bolted it to frame and then mounted the bumper to the square tube 3in above where it was from factory.Could not tell it was not factory unless you looked up under the bumper. Don't have any pictures of it and have sold it since, but I still see it every once in a while and it is still the same. It was cheap and easy.

Thanks guys. I will look into it... Jeff I have to be honest I have seen some trucks around here that don't fall into florida law! I will have to measure mine and see what it is going to be?

Re: Raising The Front Bumper?
F350s and 250 4x4 have a front bumper bracket that you could bolt on the bumper then fab whatever you need to keep it at the height you want. Would be the easyest way IMO. Might have to build a airfoil for the bottom to hide the frame when done.
