...too rich for my blood, i'll just stick with plan A and use one of my other grilles...they aren't costing anything but time

prices like that kinda make me wanna straighten the grille out and sell it
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

If the other grills you have are in goog shape, and you think you may have your truck painted later on. I think I would hold out on swapping grills until then. That way they won't have the same damages as the 70 grill your using now and still be nice when you want to redo your truck.

 yeah, it likely will be painted later on but the grille's pi$$in' me off right now so that's my main concern at this time (right or wrong)
my truck's had crappy paint for most of its life -- i bought the sucker with a nice (not really) thick (really)coat of latex house enamel (yup) brush painted on it (probably on a really hot day),and have battled against either rust and/or shoddy paintjobs ever since....right now i'm holding a ceasefire against both....(the rust i've pretty much won against)
....also i'm living in town now rather than out in the toolies and hafta work out in the driveway cuz i no longer have a garage to use as a shop so i hafta consider the neighbour's concerns about the noise i'll be making doing bodywork & the overspray that i'll end up getting on their precious flowergarden.... and car...and house...

so anyways ....i've been aching to do something to my truck for awhile & swapping the grille is the cheapest thing i can do to my truck right now...so right or wrong thats what gonna happen....when it eventually stops raining.. .if it doesn't freeze too too much ...

If you had been working on this grille project for as long as you have been discussing it, it would be done & you could start on something else. Procrastinating will never get it done. LOL! "Have A Great Ford day!

 no doubt

Send me some of that rain this way. Our lakes look like big mud holes. The lakes have been so low the last two years I sold my bass boat :(

Back in my early twenties, I didn't have a place to work on my stuff. In the town I lived in I noticed a old shop building boarded up. I asked the owner if I could use it to work on my own stuff. Also told him I wasn't interested in opening any kind of business in it & I might be able to pay a little rent. He told me if I promised to try hard not to burn the joint down, I could use it for free. I changed out an engine in that building & used it for a year before moving to another town. It's something for you to think about looking for & it would get you out of the weather. "Have A Great Ford Day"

 i'd gladly send you some rain if i could find a suitable way of shipping it,cuz we've got lots too spare here

i've done the haul my truck & tools off to someone else's place thing before, it doesn't work out well for me i forget to bring stuff and run back and forth more than i get anything done or have tools and stuff stolen when i'm not there everytime,so i'd rather stay at home and do it when weather permits.Everything i need less a shop to do it in is right here

20 yrs ago It never used to bother me being out in the rain workin on stuff -still doesn't really, unless its cold and windy..cuz i sure feel it more now than when i was a pup (and you're pretty limited as to what you can work on in it)

i might grab one of those portable tarp garage dealies, they work pretty good unless it snows, then they're on the ground in a mangled mess of broken and bent pipe

Out of the three 60's, I'd go for the 69, either plain or Ranger style.

Yeah, I had it displayed in my front room for a few months before I sold it. Hated to see it go, but the price was right!
I wonder if I'll ever find another...
