Re: What grille should i run? Opinions pls
If it's getting that beat up I would be tempted to find a steel grill of one of those years for next to nothing and use it. And oh yeah, send me the '69 grill.
Best looking in my opinion. I may be biased. My 41K mile original.

I'm planning on the billet inserts for '70. A little pricey but I love the look. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fb/full.aspx?Page=55

Re: What grille should i run? Opinions pls
I ran the billet inserts in my 72 grille when I had my F250. I liked them so much that when I parted that truck out, I kept the 72 grille with the billet inserts and sold the 69 grille from my Crew Cab. When I put it all back together, I will be running the 72 with inserts once again.

Speaking of the billet inserts here is some real nice eye candy. Truck belongs to a Guy named Tommy on the fordification facebook page. Hope he does not mine me posting it,but I am sure he will just be happy someone else is showing it off for him.It is a beautiful truck. He has other pics on facebook if you want to see more of it

Re: What grille should i run? Opinions pls
So here's the story now:
sometime between the 20th of dec and last weekend the roof of the storage unit i have alot of my truck parts stashed in partially collapsed under the weight of the wet snow that piled up on it ......flat roof -why anyone would build something around here with a flat roof is unfathomable to me...but whatever
anyways--- most of the stuff was more or less sorta kinda unharmed except for an extra rear window (r.i.p.),a spare fender (patch material now) and the 68 grille which took a direct hit from the florescent lights right dead centre of the bloody thing... its probably fixable maybe, but not anytime soon
the 69 grille got twisted and has a tear in one of the mounting tabs now and one of the coon eyes is crushed in abit now
the 67 somehow escaped unharmed....looks like i'm goin with the 67

Whateverman, that's one of the saddest stories I've heard! Two grilles killed in one accident. The '67s still a good looking grille though.

Re: What grille should i run? Opinions pls
Thanx,ya its a real p!$$ off thats for sure... thankfully the 69 grille's not totally dead just maimed a little, and i was leaning towards running the 67 anyways so ...yeah thats life...
here's hoping that all my spare electrical stuff (harnesses, starters and wiper motors) dries out and is still functional afterwards ...and that the carbs weren't submerged in ice water long enough to start corroding (everything like that was in rubbermaid totes, that of course opened up when the roof fell in on em..... gooodtimes

67 grille with the 69 cooneyes...Looks Frikkin Killer!
I always wanted cooneyes on the ol'pig ...shoulda done this years ago
i had to tune the drivers side bezel up a fair bit to knock the crush damage out of it but it looks pretty close to nearly almost perfect enough, it totally fits in with the rest of the road-worn look of my truck ,probably 5 more minutes or tweakin and i'll be 120% happy with it
now the ol'pig is even more of a mutt than ever...almost a purebred mutt now
