Believe whatever you want, but I know first hand, just as the OP's sister-in-law knows first hand. So no BOA for me!!ximy wrote:Bank of America: Credit, debit cards not blocked from purchasing guns, ammunition
Bank of America flatly denied Wednesday online reports that it was blocking the use of its credit and debit cards for gun and ammunition purchases....
The urban legend-busting website snopes.com declared false Wednesday afternoon the claim that Bank of America blocks its bank card customers from purchasing guns or ammunition. It noted, however, two cases where the bank allegedly blocked its corporate customers from trading in firearms.
Last month American Spirit Arms owner Joe Sirochman claimed on Facebook that Bank of America froze his company’s accounts for three weeks, ultimately telling him via telephone, “We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.”
And in April 2012, McMillan Group International operations director Kelly McMillan wrote on Facebook that a Bank of America senior vice president told him after the company began manufacturing guns that his business was no longer welcome.
In that case, a bank representative told Snopes that it “has no policies that would prohibit us from doing business with clients in [the firearms] industry.”

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
I agree that there should be no personal attacks here. I feel very strongly about the need to preserve our freedoms and I believe most of us do. Guns may not be of interest to everyone-I only own one rifle for hunting. However, if lawmakers keep infringing on our freedoms, sooner or later they may get to something we do care about. A ban on firearms would honestly not affect me much as I have never been "into" guns, but I will defend the rights of those who wish to exercise their right to bear arms. Just as I would hope any American would defend my freedom to worship as I please, eat what I please, etc.

I've got a snarky tongue in cheek petition on whitehouse.gov in response to all this anti gun BS. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petiti ... s/xhGg99rL signatures are appreciated.

Well after this happened , (which was carried on tv) I hope and pray I NEVER have to ask Bank of America for
one penny.
Keep in mind this was small U.S flags they were sticking in the ground to honor the fallen U.S. Marine, lining the route of a United States of America Marine who gave his life for our freedom.
The flags would have been removed after the precession passed.
I honestly do not see how any True American can use Bank of America for anything after they stopped these people from sticking these small U.S. flags up in their lawn until the body of the fallen Marine passed.
Search your hearts. Ask your self if you should use them or not.
Bank of America should not be allowed to have America in its name.
Please check this out for your self.

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
During this time of high stress for gun owners and enthuseists we need to keep calm and interact with level heads.
From what I was reading segments BoA was doing some snarkie stuff to some accounts that were used for ammo and firearms purchases but not all and once they were called out on it did a CYA move. I disagree with that policy and no longer deal with BoA, actually haven't in years due to their rampant 'fee' schedules.
Per the whole assualt gun thing, reality is overshadowed by perception. Mass media isn't an enthusiasts friend. A 10-22 is an assault rifle now.
Calm heads may prevail. Contact your local state gun organizations, not necesarilly the NRA.
BTW, here's MD's local site. The national 2a subforum has a lot of good info

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
As an aside, I've noticed that among my friends, and myself who already have our evil scary guns and all the evil scary magazines we could use in our lifetimes, that attention is turning towards high powered and highly accurate rifles now. Suddenly a nice .308 bolt gun looks like an interesting investment, as well as a couple more .41 mag revolvers (OMG I love the .41 mag, please tell me that someone else on Fordification shoots .41? I've got .41 Blackhawk on layaway that will be my new carry gun)

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
Calm and reasoned outrage is my advice.
Make no mistake this is about taking away the right of citizens to own a firearm, ANY kind of firearm. If the administration can do it without the support of congress they will, and they make no secret of it.
If you value the right to own a firearm I urge you to contact your representatives in Congress and let them know. Make no excuses, those who value the Constitution and all of its amendments (Not only the second) must speak loudly and in one voice that they won't stand for the administration usurping Congress. And your Congressman/woman must know that you will ensure with your vote whether or not they return to Washington next election.
It is not even hard to do.

No need to apologize, the war isn't here, and if it does get here we'll just delete the topic.68 Ford Stepside wrote:I apologize DuckRyder. I didn't realize I was starting a war.
So far with one notable exception that won't be a problem anymore, it is fine.

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
I like the .41 mag, but have never owned one, and the ammo is pretty high $$$, so if I had one, I'dkf7mjf wrote:As an aside, I've noticed that among my friends, and myself who already have our evil scary guns and all the evil scary magazines we could use in our lifetimes, that attention is turning towards high powered and highly accurate rifles now. probably limit my shooting with it.
A friend of mine had a real nice nickle plated .41 way back in the early 80's or so.
I got to play with it a tad on one deer hunting trip we went on near Bracketville TX where he
had 33 acres. Really nice.
And... a funny story about that same trip. We were sleeping in an old camper that he had rigged up
there permanent, and it had beds, little [censored], etc.. We were going to get up pretty early to hunt.
This is pretty close to the Mexican border.
Anyway, at about 5 in the AM, all of a sudden the front door opened up. We both bolted upright at about
the same time. It was two illegals that were looking for a hut to sleep in or whatever.
The first thing they saw, was my friends shiny new .41 mag staring them right in the face.

It was almost like a roadrunner cartoon the speed that they took off at. I guess they didn't feel lucky..

BTW, neither one of us ended up getting a deer..

shot went right over it's back.. Misjudged the elevation.. It was the first time I'd ever tried a shot
in the multiple hundred yard range..

Re: What In The Devil Is Going On
Considering all the crap that's starting up, i've made up my mind to start loading my own rounds again like I use to years ago. I'll probably start off with the pistol rounds .357, .40 & .45. I use to load them on the hot side. I like plenty of horsepower if you know what I mean. I looked on the net last night for ammo & was amazed at how much ammo is out of stock & on backorder.
