speaking of credit cards

Post by blumule »

i was reading the post on what the devils going on and most peoples opinion seems negative when it come to boa. I personally have been a customer of boa for at least 15 years and always paid my bill on time. a few months back i mistakenly paid my bill some 4 dollars short of min. payment but paid on time. they froze my account without telling me and left me standing in a wal mart line with a declined credit card. ive been a valued , loyal customer with excellant credit and they do this to me for 4 dollars? i vowed then and there to pay them off every penny and cancel my account with them. now with this gun thing going on im once again vowing to canc=el and move on. my question is this, what is a good reputable credit card co. that appreciates their customers and doesnt have political liberal agendas to promote. personally i think the majority of us like minded individuals on this forum who beleive in values and hard work are headed down the creek without a paddle. Sad but true these times are a changing,

I personally use several credit cards, but I like Discover best simply because they only charge me 7.9 % interest. :)

Your best bet anymore is to ditch the big banks and put your money in a local credit union. Usually they have better percentages on credit cards, are more likely to loan you money when needed, and you are an actual person to them, not just a number. Get involved in their community activities and meet the higher ups, its a good way to network, and you'll actually know someone if there ever is an issue. Sure, you won't have access to ATM machines all over the country, but you stand a much greater chance of getting the credit union president on the phone if you need to, not someone overseas.

I've been with the same credit union for 15 years and always had good dealing with them. Last year i had a issue and needed some banking help, Talked with the VP about the situation and couldn't have been more happy with the way she helped and treated me. Credit unions are 10x better than a bank IMO.

Just chose a local bank and ditch your credit cards. I've been running just the debit card for the last five years. My credits great, if I run into a hardship I can get a $10k loan in about an hour with the bank.

I fully agree with ditching the whole credit card and big bank scenario. There are needs for actual credit cards for example renting a car. The whole B of A gun this is poorly informed public at best and lies or worse on the other end of the scale. I purposely went to a gun dealer yesterday bought a Ruger Mini 14 and specifically used my B of A card, there were absolutely no issues. The B/S that is being brought can be in many cases traced back to a few specific groups that are providing a misinformation and hate campaign.
