Maybe it's because I wish the best for everyone or perhaps it's just plain curiosity, but when I post a suggestion for a problem or tip I will check back on that post for a while to see how the situation turned out. I get a little disappointed when there's no update. Were we right? How did it get fixed? Am I the only one who feels this way? (P.S. If noone responds to THIS post, would that be considered coincidence or would it be irony?)

Chad, some times I feel the same feeling....Mostly I help people because the transmission industry has been good to me & I am retired now & help out on several boards...The knowledge that I have acquired will be lost someday as less & less folk's enter the field..I am a FIRM believer in KARMA & also in, PASS IT ON.......Mostly when I get feedback or thanks, it is a nice feeling..., but the fact that I have helped someone is enough...The one that comes to the top was quite a while ago, from Bobby Ford, who seems quite a gentleman & is VERY knowledgeable, when he told me that he had learned something from my posts the he didn't know.....& there were many others that said thanks, etc...

I've always made sure to thank someone who helps me in some way, but I don't get offended when someone doesn't return the favor. I guess that's why I said it may just curiosity that makes me look for an update. I just like to hear what the solved the problem in the end AND I love to hear that someone has gotten another old Ford back on the road.

Whenever I have a problem with my truck this is always the first place I search. It's nice when you find someone who's had the same problem and gets it fixed then leaves an update saying what worked.

I'd like to respond to the post by Donnie. I agree VERY much that alot of technical knowledge gets lost because it seems the younger generation doesn't want to take time or effort to learn how to do anything for themselves. My daughter's boyfriend is a great kid who is eager to learn whatever he can about our hobby. I have started many projects not knowing what I was doing, but I took the time to research and study on the subject. I feel there is a certain pride when you rebuild a carb, rebuild a transmission, etc., that most people won't take the time to learn to do. Let's pass this knowledge down to the ones who do want to learn.

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!
