She's Home!

Post by dolinick »

i have owned this truck about two years i think. She's been in the shop for about a year. I wasn't going to replace the transmission but then I changed my mind. They only charged about a couple hundred bucks to tow and store it for all that time. It was almost another 500 for parts and labor to replace the transmission. They topped off the oil and coolant and charged up the battery. She started right up. I filled the tank with fresh gas and drove her home.

I was thinking about driving it to work instead of the 2002 f250 crew cab but I don't know if the mpg is any better. It's a hundred miles round trip times 5 days a week. I should drive the '74 Nova really and put the Ranger in the backyard. Maybe if I build at least a two car carport way in the backyard I can relax a bit for a while.

Good. You're on your way...with a good truck!
Try to keep TWO vehicles on the road at the same time for your own use.
It really makes life alot easier.

So my truck has been home almost a week. I had it parked on the side of the driveway. We don't have a very well laid out driveway and I don't like parking on the street if I don't have to. Anyway, that's the spot where I normally park my other truck. I started the truck up, let it warm up a couple of minutes, and them moved it into the driveway close to the garage. She has a slight misfire and what sounds like some kind of exhaust leak. If I can take care of those two things she'll run pretty smooth.

Maybe this weekend I will have time to clean her up and take some better photos.
