Plastic Truck Models

Post by 68 Ford Stepside »

While the wife was shopping in Hobby Lobby yesterday I was browsing in the plastic model section. They had no bumps or dents on display. However there was a 1978 Ford van there. Can anyone tell me what is so special or cool about a '78 Ford van ? :?

That would be neat if they did. I'd like to build one for my desk. On a little different note.... I wonder if they made any bump side Hot Wheels cars? That would be nice too.

I have done some research on this. The model company's just did not make the bumps don't know why. Athough on Ebay there is a company that makes premade models I believe 1/43 Scale 1968 Ford F100. If I ever do come across any model
kits out there I will post it. 1-43-NEO-Resin-Model-FORD-F100-Pick-Up-Truck-1968-White-Blue-44846

IN HO scale there are a lot of mid 50's Ford pickups, but I don't think I've seen anything from the 70's.

There was a model maker about a year or 2 ago that wanted to know if someone in a area would let them measure a bump for a model they were going to build and produce. Don't know if anything ever happened with that but they said they would let us know when they were built so we could buy one if we wanted.

Not sure whether this is a bump or a dent. The photos are poor quality.

If anybody does come across a 67-72 f100 model let me know. I could use a winter project. I also don't mind kitbashing so even if someone has a resin kit out there let me know. Thanks again.

No prob! I actually have a bunch of those matchbox trucks that I have purchased from eBay. My plan is similar to the OP of that thread in which I am going to cut up some of the toasted ones and make some custom trucks out of them. My main goal is to try and make a crew cab out of a couple of them. We will see when I can find the time to get to that project and see how it turns out. Its going to have to be some JB Weld and grinding because there is no way welding is going to work on that project.

I made that van model once upon a time. During those days custom vans were cool.
