met a 72 ford guy while selling my 65 electra 225 today
i managed to sell my 65 electra 225 today. also got rid of two trucks, one caught in a fire and another straight axel what-haves-youwhoknows truck for my friend. cleared out a yard of 4 cars in a week. not bad days work while being sick with this crap. which i'm just about over with. and the neighbor has his stepside 1972 ford f100 300ci inline 6 truck outside and i think he was adjusting valve lash. he had a tire mounted on the stepside. it's a blue ford. it has a bench seat with headrests. i think it has a 4 speed. and it's a 5x5 1/2. steel wheels with some chrome hub caps. i think it may have the heavy steel bumper with the manufacturing location. i thought it looked good. anyways when we load up the electra this teusday i'll try to get some decent pictures of it. seems like a nice truck. i don't know if the gentleman is a fordificaiton member or not. if i've already met you here, whoops!

Congratulations! And tell your neighbor he's got a great truck! Love the flare sides.

i think he's missing turn signal lenses and a member on our forum hooked me up with lenses that i ended up not needing. when i go to atl to pack my things up this week i'm going to set the orange markers aside. on my way back through birmingham i'm going to drop them off on his front porch. have to pass on the bump side good will

alot of my friends and family are angry i sold it. and for so cheap. i'm pissed too. too much family drama and me trying to relocate and needing cash to get out of the cesspool of ghetto atlanta. couldn't deal with any of it anymore. wasn't worth the sale at all really. sometimes i wonder why i use morale compass to make people happy who don't give a damn about me. whatever i'll probably get another one later in life. and heres the pics for you

Wow, that was a heck of a car. That body looks really clean, probably has almost no rust being in the south for so many years. Did it run?

Re: met a 72 ford guy while selling my 65 electra 225 today
no i'm afraid it didn't. it had the original 425 nail head. i am almost certain that it threw a rod in the best way possible, if that can even be said. the block seemed to be fine, no cracks. and there wasn't any trash in the oil. it ran right before i threw the rod and parked it. the switchpitch (turbo 375) was in amazing shape!! functioned better than any switchpitch car i've rode in to date! the guys who bought it didn't even know what they had. unfortunately i'm the type of guy who will lose money on a sale just to make sure the pieces of the car don't get seperated. i have that cursed respect-the-nostalgia streak in me. and this one had so many valuable parts on it i keep pinching myself. she will be missed.MaxKlinger wrote:Wow, that was a heck of a car. also i'm afraid it did have rust. there was rust underneath the trunk lid, and also in the floor pan where the pedals are. also a rust hole on the driver quarter at the very bottom, rust through about the size of a dollar bill. and then a rust through spot about the size of a dollar bill at the base of each front quarter panel behind each wheel on the outside. aside from that and a handful of pinholes in the trunk it was very very solid. but if you can weld at all these were no brainer repairs.

Haha in the northeast, that IS considered "almost no rust".
