Lost a friend

Post by STROKER69 »

hello all, been a while, but I need to vent. Lost a almost life long friend last week. We met in the third grade of school and became friends all through school years. Lost contact and met up by chance again after about 6 years (1971) We wound up living on the same street and playing basketball in a neighbors back yard. This went on for about a half a year. He then moved off and I would pass him sometimes on the streets of our town as he worked for UPS, and we would wave and holler at each other.
He passed last week and I found out by reading his obit in paper. Sad part we both had been to the Nam and neither had talked or knew we had been.He had recieved THE PURPLE HEART AND BRONZE STAR. I guess the Orange got him. All I can say is rest in peace brother Steve, and I wish we had spent more time playing horse and talking.

I had a friend I met in kindergarten. We went through 13 years of school together. He was the best friend I have ever had on this earth. He got sick and passed away in 1995. Even after 18 years I still miss him a lot.
You have my condolences on the loss of your friend. I will be praying for you to have strength in this difficult time.

Yep, I moved to a new town in fourth grade and became friends with the son of the bank president. Both my mom and grandfather worked at the bank. We were friends all through school. We lost track during college but he called me soon after graduation and wanted to know if he could come over and watch a football game because we had cable and his folks did not. That was the last time I saw him. He was killed by a drunk driver almost two years later driving home after his brother's wedding. He was only 26. He would be 45 this Saturday.

I'm sorry about your friend. I know how you feel.
