Because the short bed look more sporty and are worth more. In the classic truck business a long bed is like a 4 door classic car they are used for parts.MaxKlinger wrote:Personally I have never understood the short bed thing. It burns the same amount of fuel, and costs more to buy, but holds less stuff in the bed. Also it looks funny being that short. To each his own. I'd much rather stick with trucks I can put a 4x8 of plywood into.

Well I've always been glad that not everyone thinks the same way I do, otherwise the things I want to do would be in greater demand and therefore so much more expensive!

I like the looks of both. Short box looks better as a 2wd, if it is lifted I think it looks too short in this body style. I have wondered how it would look if you took 1 foot out of the front part of a long box for a "medium" box if that would look good.

And just what was restored? All I saw he spent money on from the looks of it was lots of different color spray bomb paint and poorly used at that.

Suspension's shot to sh*t, the springs in my rig are wore out and saggy and it sits higher than that.

Congrats on the purchase. The only thing that matters is that you are happy with it and it was worth it to you. I would just have the rear c-notch looked at and make sure it was done right, that would be about it. Other than that, congrats and enjoy!

Congrats on the purchase I agree with getting the C notch checked out. But I think it is a good looking truck.

Re: opinions on 1967 F100 purchase
Funny you should ask that... I took a picture of my buddy's longbed and used photoshop to see what it would look like a while back. This is completely to scale and is what 1 foot chopped out of the front would look like. We have since converted this truck to a short bed by finding a donor frame and bed, but this is what we were going to do originally... It actually looks pretty darn good!9t3svt wrote:I like the looks of both. Short box looks better as a 2wd, if it is lifted I think it looks too short in this body style. Wow! That may actually need to be done
Seems to look a bit more natural to me. Nice photochop by the way, and thanks. I may have to shorten a frame yet.
