It was too cold to work on my trucks today so I figured I would research my data late info. I found the info here on Fordification but have a couple of questions.

The consecutive unit number of my 1970 F350 is G35917. I found out this means it was assembled in August of 1969. The C before that number shows it was built in Ontario. The body trim is 535 which means it is a stakebed with red vinyl interior. I found out there were only 5,341 F350 stakebeds made in 1970. So can I surmise that my truck was one of the first F350 stakebeds made in 1970? Not that it really matters, I am just sort of curious.

Next question: My truck is a flatbed dump. Did Ford ship out orders for things like dump beds after market body shops in the 70's? I know they did in the 50's. The PTO and dump levers come up through my transmission hump and it looks like the holes for the levers were cut rather crudely, so it is possible my truck had a hoist added by a local shop. It doesn't look like a professional after-market bed company would do shoddy work like that.

I'm interested in the answers you get.
I have a 69 flatbed dump as well. My PTO levers are on the left side, down by the auxiallry gas tank switch. My truck has always been titled as a commercial vehicle so I am thinking Ford delivered my truck knowing it would get a flatbed, or some type of commercial bed.
I would like to see pics of your hoist set up, meaning the "hinge" area. Show me yours and I'll show you mine.
