Does anyone know if the 351m is an interference engine? I haven't been able to find any data
Now for the hard one, how do I convince my other half that having 4 trucks in the yard isnt a bad thing?
If I had four trucks in the yard, my wife would open up a Ford junk yard. Nothing wrong with having fifty trucks in the yard in you can afford it. I know a guy whose yard is full of all sorts of trucks & cars & he has to let the government feed his family. There is something not right with that. If he can afford to keep buying clunker trucks, he should be able to buy groceries for his family.Just one man's opinion who never was scared to work for a living.Gettysburg150 wrote:Thanks guys, thats kinda what I was thinking.

Amen brother. Too many takers and not enough makers.
I don't know how its even possible, but he sounded like an ass via text too...Ranchero50 wrote:Guy sounds like an ass in his ad so who knows what will happen. Price doesn't sound terrible for a not terribly rusted '79 4x4. Body line looks good so hopefully the cab mounts and floor are not shot.
It is an interference engine but usually once the chain jumps some they won't try to start or jump enough to bend a valve. If I didn't have enough other projects I would consider it, drop in an EFI 302 / 351W and enjoy it. I would not put another 351M in it.

He did send me a picture of the "worst" rust area on the truck and it is that wheel well. It's not a very good job.Superjunk wrote:Looks like the pass. side rear wheel well has been replaced and it doesn't look to good of a job.I wonder how much bondo is really in that truck.
I would offer $700 and if he says noI would walk...
