Instant friends

Post by Truckee250club »

Anyone else find that Rollin into a parking lot, revving high, and then parking seems to make instant friends in your bump? No matter what condition too. It happened before I did my rebuild. But not as much as now. ;)

I can't buy gas without hearing stories about other people's old trucks! Mine is a rough '69, but it's got that old truck look... who really uses a 3 on the tree anymore to go to the hardware store? It's always so easy to find!

These trucks will grab attention. Day to day motorists are so use to the new aerodynamic "roundness" of today's modern vehicles that anything with a square body will draw folks in like a light bulb attracts moths.

A lumpy cam helps also lol.

Funny thing my bump attracts a lot of attention even from people who are not into antique vehicles. Great conversation starter when I pull up to give an estimate. Then forget it if it is someone else driving another bump then we are like twins separated from birth. My wife thinks I am nuts when she is there on those incidents.

I have noticed the same thing with my 73 Honda CL450 DOHC. I think alot of the times people see them and remember owning one or knowing someone that does/did. Plus old body lines are so much cooler than any aluminum foil POS of today IMO.
