Sorry Tylerb43, I might have missed it but what color of blue is that?

The color is a 1992 GM color called Bahama Blue Metallic, but we're using it in Waterborne form. And please don't give me crap about it being a GM color, my brother (who's a chevy guy) is doing his best to wear that one out.

Tyler, I keep coming back to your thread to take notes. Just wanted to let you know, I'm stealing errr.. borrowing a lot of ideas from you.

The only thing I might throw in, & you might already know it, but, since your using the '73+ cantilever style booster mounts, you'll have to extend the bracket for your brake light switch. Your brake pedal will sit closer to the floor now ( like the '73+ trucks). Or you can use an adjustable brake light switch like this one.

But I do indeed have the threaded "adjustable" switch, so I guess I'm golden, right? To be honest, I thought all bumps had the same switch except the 67's, so thanks for sharing that tidbit, very interesting.

Oh - and by the way, I've had several pictures of your truck saved in my reference folder for years, so right back at you for "borrowing" inspiration!!

I go with the theory that you are improving their paint color by putting it on something that looks cooler than a 92 GM . And dont worry I will be "borrowing" a few things from you too Tyler

That's funny you say that Tyler, my buddy who is going to be helping me with my 69 wants me to paint mine LeMans blue. Yours looks really nice, I'm still undecided on a color yet. I did go to the F100 supernationals last year in Tennessee and they had one painted a really dark purple that I really liked but I don't know what color it was

Rock on man! You made my day. My truck looked & ran great & I loved it, but I parked it due to the front end & brakes going T.U. Plus, I figured it's a good time to fix the cab mounts & make some other repairs.

If you have the adjustable brake light switch your good. For whatever reason, my truck has the non adjustable switch. Why I have no idea. The original could have gone out & grandpaw might have had that one laying around & made it work.

Yeah, there's probably a lot of stuff on these old trucks like that. Even if they went to the dealership for repair, the guys just made it work. There weren't strictly followed, documented repair procedures and detailed oversight like there is today. Well, most places today anyway..

Hey Guys! Check these out! The wife and I are starting work on our basement, and found these while going through some boxes. These were taken when I bought the truck in September, 1992. I was 15, and somehow scraped up $350 for this beautiful beast. Wow, I nearly forgot what it really looked like. Is it weird that looking at these pictures, I can remember what it smelled like driving it home? Yep, that's weird. Oil, dirt, and rotten gas by the way, what a great old truck smell!

Anyway, thought you guys would enjoy seeing the old pics. Note the house carpet on the seat - awesome.

Love the old school tire combo on it back in the day. Me & my buddies always called that "Grandpaw style". Street tires up front & super lugs in the back.

I've got the Gen II Mini installed. I made custom lines for the #6 and #10's. I'm using a bulkhead fitting from Classic Auto Air, and the rest is from Vintage Air.

Here are the lines ready for install.

Sorry if you have posted this info already but what color is the carpet in the pics and where did you get it from? Looks really good with the blue and I'm thinking it would go well with the green paint I have picked out for mine.

Hey, thanks man! I got the carpet from StockInteriors.com. It's the 80/20 loop with mass backing option. The color is 519-Fawn. I ordered the pack of color samples first to pick one to compliment my seat cover color. The carpet is actually USA made by Auto Custom Carpets in Alabama, and is of great quality.

On a side note the color you picked for your truck reminds me a lot of my old 69 I had as a teen. here's a poorly scanned copy of one of the few pics I have, I figured you'd appreciate it.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the compliments! I'm sure you've seen my pics of the truck during my high school days back on page 1, and it seems we have very similar taste! That's a good looking truck!

That picture of your truck actually brings up a concern that's lurking in the back of my mind. The stock rear ride height has always been "raked" a little bit. Which I loved back in the day, but I think I may like it a little more level now. I obviously don't even know how it will ultimately sit, so this concern is pretty unfounded at this point. I'm thinking the extra weight of the wood bed will lower the rear 1"-1.5" or so, and just sit perfect. Okay, that's a hope, but I guess we'll see.

Tyler, When I did my wood floor conversion it made the bed almost 100# lighter.
