Factory Radio to play of Iphone

Post by 69Ford »

I wired this radio to work with an Iphone, MP3player, Computer or whatever else has this style plugin with instructions off a post from here. Made the mistake of not testing radio before modifying. The radio plays fine off the Iphone
but does not work for any AM stations. has any body else tried this and still received AM stations. Also I'm using a 12 volt power supply could that be a problem. Works awesome off the headset plugin. Thanks

That reminds me of an old style AM/FM radio I saw on Ebay...looks to be pretty versatile.

you need an anteena hooked to it to get any stations to come in.

Tried it with an antenna but not the one from the truck. An AM loop antenna from a home stereo.

i would think the antenna would have to be outside the truck to work with am. i have a radio box in my 66 with no external antenna and it does not pick up any am stations. the fm side is fine.

If the power cycle doesn't work, try rebooting it while holding the reset button and swiping diagonally across the touch screen. Have you checked to make sure it is plugged in?

Could you please show how you wired it? I would be happy with just the iPod being able to play.

In the next few days I will have the radio apart again. I will take pictures fairly simple if you have soldering skills. Or there is a post out on this site with the steps.
