Help finding Copper washers
I resently took apart my pump for my dump bed to switch sides so it would line up with my pto. Anyway there are 8 large copper crush washers that the bolts that hold the pump on to the hoist seal against. They are 1 3/8 id. I have been looking but can not come up with anything. Does anyone know of a source for these or can point me in the right direction? Dad and my uncle have just been saying to reuse the old ones but I dont know.

If your local parts stores can't find any to match up, look in the phone book for someone who makes hydraulic lines. They should be able to get what you need.

Lay them on a steel plate or brick etc. and hit hem with a propane torch until they start to change color as the torch goes by them... Like clouding up blue-ish? Or heat them to... spit sizzelin' hot. Get them hot then tip the brick or whatever to drop them in a bucket of water. They won't quench or get hard dropping them in water. The water just cleans any oxidation when they hit it and they come out bright and annealed. Softening them up will give you a better chance they'll seal again.

Re: Help finding Copper washers
i got lucky at the local ford house when i needed some after a pumpkin swap--that was some years back, but, ya never know
--- i suppose those custom 9 inch diff builders would have them or the best replacement-- a lot of those type of items are finally getting some attention in the market arena--another good source is your local bearing supply house or the fastenal store*(*prob have to buy a hundred lot from those suckers
)
good luck
