Post by Art »

Anyone have a factory 1969 Ford truck service manual? Volume One specifically? I need to have something looked up, because I am missing that volume from my set. Please PM me if you can help. :fr:

Thank you,

I do, but I won't be able to look up anything until I get home from work in about 8 hours.

I am looking to see how Ford recommends to adjust the axle bearing endplay on the 68/69 1/2 ton trucks with a Dana rear axle. They have tapered roller bearings and use a thrust spacer between the two axles.

Hello Art: There is way too info for me to type here, but I can give you some general info. When assembled, ready for the road, these axles must have an overall axle shaft end play of 0.001 to 0.010 ,measured at the right axle shaft flange. The procedure for checking the clearance is nearly a full page & my typing skills are not that good. Also there is a different procedure between using the original parts & new parts. Thanks for the help.

I did not know you had a battle going on.

Keep fighting and try to be positive.

A friend is currently battling brain cancer and I thought he was a goner... He continued to be positive and the outcome so far has surprised everyone, including the doctors...

Keep fighting it. Don't give up.
