trans linkage
I put a c-4 transmission in my truck and took a steering column & linkage out of a 74 f-100 which had a c-6 trans, will that linkage work for the c-4 trans or do I need to find a different linkage rod.As of right now the shifter does not line up with the the marks on the column (like D R N 21) even if I adjust it on the rod to the trans....

Re: trans linkage
the shift arm on the trans is probably the wrong length,i had to extend mine by about an inch i think. The correct length for the shift arm is given in the pic here:(3 1/4" centre to centre)

If doing things the "right' way is your mode of operations you can take the valvebody out and change the shift arm -- too much mess and bother for me, i just made a bolt on arm extension, one of these days i'll shoot some pics of it
