Junkyard crawl.

Post by chad67 »

We had some fair weather today so I drove about 8 miles to a little backwoods junkyard. The history was speaking loud and clear. I took a few pictures I thought somebody might like to see.

Man what I wouldn't give to rummage thru that place.

I spy a lot of good chrome trim on those two ranger trucks. Rear window, dash, drip rail etc.

Nice finds, Chad67. I'm down in the left bottoms of the state, and heard about a yard near Cassville, which is right down on the Arkansas border that's supposed to have some bumps still araound. We have a new member here from near there whose back yard looks a little like bump heaven, and he's got a "holler" on either side with even more trucks. Some he drove in there years ago. He's a really good guy, too.

I always hate to see a good old Ford returning to nature, but I know that if it wasn't for these old boneyards we wouldn't be able to build our trucks. I know, I know...kinda sounds like the old "circle of life" story, but how many trucks have we violated to get ours going? I'm up to 5 already, and the number will be going up to 6 next month. The guy that owns this place is gonna cut out the entire front suspension out of a dentside for me so I can do a disc brake swap. Complete spindles, beams, radius arms, and springs for $75.

That's a pretty good deal especially if he's gonna pull it for you.

I bought one F600 cluster for my truck with a chrome bezel, and as I was removing a door panel from another rig-I found a painted bezel with no gauges. I didn't have enough time to continue my search, but I'm going back.
