OT off hwy loggingtrucks and a stolen totem pole

i was doing a job up in Campbell River about 50mi from here and it just so happened that there were some old Hayes logging trucks on site,i've always had a thing for these monsters

V12 detroit diesels,allison trans , watercooled brakes with over 1200hp in stopping power and built right here in b.c.

about 25 ft away from them was this totem pole,stolen from a mall parking lot,recovered and left unclaimed for over 2 years :

- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood,some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox,behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame,rear end,rear springs,and rear bumper...

Stout looking rigs. Are those 12V71's or 12V92 Detroits? Either way I bet they SCREAM with a load of logs. :D

There use to be a logging outfit in SE Oklahoma that used those old "Autocar" logging trucks. I use to see them all over the place.

these suckers can haul about 150 tons & the terrain here is almost totally mountainous,its pretty impressive to see them in action and pretty scary when you encounter one on the logging roads especially if you havent got anywhere to pull over and get outta the way :lol:
