71 F-250 CrewCab Project #IV

Post by Alstoyz »

Hey guys, I'm in the planning stages right now. I just recently traded for a '71 F-250 crew cab 2wd. :D I'm wanting to lower it and convert it to a dually. My question is. Has anyone ever installed a '70 mustang fuel tank in the rear frame rails of a F250/F350, as everyone is doing on the F100 ??? :?

Thanx, Allen. :fr:

I never thought about that... I know that the frames on the F250 and F350 trucks are beefier and thicker, but never thought about the extra metal in the frames making less room between the rails. I guess one would have to measure the distances on the F100 and compare it to the F250 and F350 trucks. I would think that the distance would not be that much different and its nothing that some very minor work with a grinder couldnt fix.
