Failed To Break A Myth
I've heard for years that different brands of gas would net you different gas mileage.I bought all of my gas for three weeks from Bp.Three weeks from Shell & three weeks from Valero.BP & Shell gave me consistant 11.2 mpg. Valero gas gave me 9.5 mpg. I drove on the open road at 55-60 mph. 25-35 in town. So the myth stands.Different brands of gas will give you different mpg. By the way,I used the middle grade gas from all three dealers.

Re: Failed To Break A Myth
in my Mustangs I always got the best MPG with Mobil gas,in my GM vehicles it was Chevron, Shell has never produced that much difference,ARCO about the same as Shell.

ethanol free gas from a local gas station (mom and pop joint) gives me the very best bang for the buck. didn't know that little six in my truck could be so powerful.

I would also recommend staying with Top Tier gas when you can, for the detergent additives they use.
