Stuff

Post by Mancar1 »

I not only enjoy the 68 I also enjoy life and each day that I am blessed to have. All that I have and enjoy I am thankful for, but at the end of the day it all is just stuff that some day someone else will own and hopefully enjoy as much as I do. Life is but a blink of the eye, so I enjoy it as it comes.
I hope to have many more years, but as my Vicki said as she lay passing. "I do not want to die and leave you, but I am ready." Hope you all understand what she meant. If not please ask.
John

You are absolutely right, and I know exactly what she meant.

Thanks, your reply means a lot. 24th of July will be 2 years since Vicki passed. I am a positive person, and I live life to the fullest, but sometimes life just kicks ya in the butt.

When I was little, I would ask my grandma about my grandpa who died when my mom was 9. He had cancer and it was inoperable. She told me she was glad when he passed because she knew he was at peace. I didn't understand then, but I do now. I have attended quite a few funerals for people at church, and we all mourn that they aren't with us, but I always picture them in heaven smiling and saying, "don't cry for me, I'm doing better than you are!"

I understand that.....I manage a cemetery. Been to a lot of services myself in the past 13 years.

I lost my mother to congestive heart failure 4 years ago Mother's Day. I took her to the ER that Monday morning and she was diagnosed. When I went to her beside after the doctor left I was tearing up. She told me " Don't cry for me son. I've had a good, full life and I know where I'm going!". She died the next day. That's the same way I feel. She was 73 and I've never known a more positive person. When things start getting to me I go back to that day and remember how she never let anything get her down.

I don't mind leaving. It is the pain that overwhelms me.
