I'm more of an Arizonian than a Californian, I was born in Ca, but I don't admit it much..

I like Illinois so far, it's something new, something different, will always miss the desert though.

We visit family in the East Bay area once or twice a year and it's beyond me why anyone would want to live there. No offense to you guys that do, I know there are reasons why it makes sense, but it's like endless suburbia. I feel like I'm in a giant herd of sheep when I'm down there. There aren't any country roads or backroads, just freeways.

There's some beautiful places in CA, but too many people for me in the lower third of the state.

Thankfully the 9 months of rain we get up here keeps some of you guys down there!

North Georgia is God's country. An hour north of Atlanta so jobs are plentiful within a decent driving distance. An hour south of TN. Rural atmosphere, mountains and streams, reasonable temps winter n summer, average rainfall, light snow in the deep of winter. 6 hour drive to the Florida coast or 4 hour drive to Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC so vacation spots are plentiful. I live in a small town that hasn't changed since the 60s and I like it that way. Cruise in once a month during the spring n summer and the old timers bring out the eye candy! :D I moved here 23 years ago, from N. Louisiana and i'll never leave.

I don't think it has been average rainfall this season, Randy. I was born & raised in S.C.but I always had a desire to live in Biloxi, Miss. along route 90 right on the coast.

You're right about that, Wayne! Thunderstorms every day for the past 10 days. Definitely not the norm for here :hmm:

Well I hope Woods is ok. A year and a half ago I spent over $130. sending him something for his Bump and he was going to send me something in return which he never did. That was around the time his Dad had the heart attack and he had to care for him. Woods is a stand up guy so something must have happened to him. I wrote him a letter several months back and no answer. I just hope his life is going good.

Yeah, I miss Woods too. I really respected his opinions/expertise on timing and carbs. Hope things are OK with him and he comes back to us.

I would even venture and say the lower half of the state. Northern cali is wonderful. If I wasnt born and raised and all my family history here In Santa Cruz,i dont know if id be living in a beach/tourist town. Although I must admit...... I live on Suburbia Ave! haha. Yeah east bay is a concrete wonderland. The coast is pretty decent. Its the politics that can get frustrating...

Nicely put, Sarg! You almost had me ready to move. I've spent some time in the Chattanooga area so I have an idea what you're talking about. Beautiful country, great people and close to LOTS of stuff.
