Another Home Made Tool

Post by 68 Ford Stepside »

Every now & then I have to change out a mechanical fuel pump on one thing or the other. Usually the gas tank is full, so I needed to shut off the supply hose at the pump.Using a small c-clamp & two pieces of rounded wood I sawed off of a broom handle, worked perfectly as a shut off valve. Shuts the fuel completely off without damage to the rubber hose. :)

Hey, that's a great idea Wayne. I think I'll be able to use that myself. Thanks!

Definitely gonna steal this idea. Changing the fuel filter on my tractor is a huge mess, this should take care of it...thanks for sharing!

My dad had a TON of homemade tools! This thread reminds me that when we were in the middle of a tough job that we'd never tackled before, he'd look at me and say "somebody, somewhere knows an easier way to do this!"

Reminds me of the years on the left over WWII Tin Cans. Make em as the need arises, sometimes using wire and bubble gum.
