Getting a title in PA?

Post by Gettysburg150 »

Hi guys,

So Im really thinking hard about throwing my good engine into the parts truck and putting it on the road. Problem is the 71 doesnt have a title :x

I bought it for parts so I didn't really care at the time, but now Im kinda learning the errors of my ways. Does anyone have any good info on trying to get a title and getting it in my name? Is there any way to pull information so I can talk to the previous owner about it? I can't even remember the guy's name I bought it from since its been a few years. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Sorry I don't have an answer for ya.You might want to contact your local DMV and see what they have to say about it.

IN some states you can register older vehicles that do not have a title. Check your local DMV and tell them you have an older 'antique' vehicle with no title. I registered mine for about $20. :D Application for the antique, one time plate fee is about another $20. At least down here in Mississippi. :hd:

You need a title in PA for everything from what I found.

A bit of good luck though, I found the fire company that should have my title, now to get them to find it for me lol

If you know the name that the truck was last registered to, you can go to 3A & apply for a lost title in the PO's name...A good 3A counterperson can walk you thru the process....kinda involved, but possible.........Donnie

Sorry could you explain what a 3A is.

And to go off on a tangent.....

If all goes well this weekend I will have the Onan generator. I will probably make my own bracket since theres a real good set of pictures on here.

Do like I'm going to do. My parts truck had a salvage title but almost everything will end up on my truck with a clean title. The only two places the VIN exists are the frame which is often barely readable and the door VIN plate. The door sill sticker is usually always painted over or missing.
