Today was a cloudy and cool day so I went out and waxed the bed of my truck for awhile ( the rest to come another day) and checked all the fluids. I will post up some pictures to show what it turned out to look like too. While I was working I got to thinking what I like most about having an old ford truck and what do other people like about their own classic car. Despite the near constant things needing "attention" with the truck I still like to own it a lot ( I'm sure that I'm not alone in the classic car world ) and I was wondering just what makes having a truck or other classic like that so great.
Here are my top 3 in no particular order:
- fun to maintain and cruise around in
- going to car shows
- the reactions from others about having the truck
So what are your favorite things about having a bumpside pick-up?

Dont eat yellow snow.....
1. The 60's era of cool (1969)
2. The bumpside body style
and 3.... the rarity of that era Crew Cab!!
Now, once my truck is all done and put back together, it may change to:
1. The classic status of the bumpside (kinda #1 and #2 combined up above)
2. The restoration and clean body/paint
and 3... THE RARITY OF THAT ERA CREW CAB!!
No truck payments.
Cheap insurance,$100.00 every six months.

My 2011 Ranger has some distinct advantages over my 67 Ranger. It gets about 30 mpg as compared to 10 mpg, it rides far better, and it will take corners without the back coming around. Oh, it stops!
But......
The 67 will haul whatever I want and not complain a bit. Its like a high speed tractor.
Airflow through the cab on old trucks is so much better than the aero designs on the newer stuff.
It makes really cool noises with Flowmasters out the back!

1. You can sit on an inner fender and change the spark plugs.
2. Nobody wants to borrow it because they can't drive it. 3OTT, manual steering and brakes.
3. The wife refuses to ride it in it because its hot, loud and ugly (in her opinion).
