i picked several bags of pawpaws today, 1 bag of pears, and just a couple figs. i'm going to make pawpaw preserves and my mom is going to make pear preserves. going to try to get more figs and pears over the next couple days.
the figs i've found have been late this season.
i ate my first pawpaw today. i actually liked it. tasted kind of like a mango mixed with a banana. took about 15 seeds and i'm germinating them now. hopefully will have some tiny pawpaw plants to plant by spring.
PawPaws R new to me, but I have great pears and figs. Pears and cottage cheese, and fig jam....yummy.. I am so fortunate to have my Mom 4 doors away...she loves to bake. I am 64 soooo I am very happy to still have Mom around. She was a comfort when my Vicki passed 2 years back.

Sorry for your loss my friend. As to the harvest season this year, I overloaded my own mother with bookoos of pears. I found one tree that a neighbor gave me permission to collect from. I filled 12 Plastic sacs and didn't get 10% of the fruit from that tree! I'm helping her make jam this week from all these pears.
