My best guess would be perkins, although not truck but rather from a farm tractor. I think that whoever fit such engine in that truck had fuel economy in mind; with the torque splitting overdrive that he installed and a 3.00 rear end ratio,its possible to get highway fuel economy comparable to a honda accord, don't expect it to burn rubber tough. the good thing about old diesel engines is that they will burn almost anything, my frugal uncle paco used to fill up his fordson major tractor with used transformer oil. by the way the motor in the bumpside would be rated at around 70hp@2400rpm. to the best of my knowledge.
