Just another of the growing collection of bump clusters. I'm running out of room for them all. Found another set of F100 gauges on Ebay. Just don't know how to tell my wife.
Four complete F100 Clusters, One complete set of F100 Gauges. One F600 Cluster, One complete set of F600 Gauges And all kinds of parts for rebuilding. Any body else have a habit of collecting ford gauges.

Re: More Gauges
I have 3 or 4 complete bump dashes sitting in my storage. No idea why as I am running custom F600 and never going back. But I just cant seem to throw them away. I would give them away, but the standard bump clusters are a dime a dozen and no one needs/wants them. It is just one of those parts that are probably not worth hanging on to as they are everywhere and if anything, people take them out to run F600 or custom, which makes them even more unneeded. But still, old parts is old parts.

Re: More Gauges
Anyone willing to part with an F600 cluster. I've replaced most of mine with auto meter prestige black gauges. Would like to have them in the cluster, rather than hanging under the dash.

Re: More Gauges
The ebay listing states that the cluster for sale is from a '67-'72 model F-600. The cluster pictured is actually from a '73-'79 dentside F-600.
If you look to the left side of the cluster, you will see a small round hole and a small rectangular cutout. This is where the wiper switch was mounted and the plastic piece with the word, "Wiper" would have been located in the rectangular slot. Bumpside clusters didn't have the wiper switch mounted on the bezel.
This may not be a big deal as any bumpside or dentside F600/800 cluster will fit in the smaller bumpside trucks but, the year listed on the cluster/bezel is inaccurate of what it actually is.
The bezel pictured looks like it has possibly been bead blasted. In their orginal installation, all bumpside F-600 bezels were finished in white. The dentside F-600/800 bezels had bright trim with flat black faces. The bright areas of the F-600/800 dentside bezels tend to surface rust, which probably explains why the finish has been stripped off the bezel in the listing.

Re: More Gauges
I don't believe all F600 gauge panels were painted white. Here's a picture of my set of gauges and gauge panel. I bought them of EBay and the chrome appears to be original with the
original black painted on the back side around the blinker holes and gauge holes. If anybody can tell me different let me know. The Chrome did not look near as good as the pictures
when I purchased them a lot of work to get the bezel to look this nice. I repainted the argent silver to exactly to the way it was when bought.

Re: More Gauges
Nice gauge cluster you have there. Perhaps it's a matter of cab/trim version that determines the finish of the bezel. Personally, I have (5) F-600/800 instrument clusters; (2) are '67-'72 bumpside clusters in all white and, (3) are '73-'79 dentside F-600/800 clusters all (originally) with bright trim and black faces but, they do have some surface rusting on the bight portions.69Ford wrote:I don't believe all F600 gauge panels were painted white. I know where several more bumpside & dentside F-600/800 clusters are. All of the ones in the bumpside trucks, that I'm talking about, are all in white & the dentside versions have bright chrome trim/black faces.
I wonder if your instrument cluster came from a truck that possibly had something like a "Custom Cab" option?

Re: More Gauges
On your Dentside gauges Is the bezel chrome on just shiny metal looking to buy one on Ebay right now. Also your gauges are different than mine in your
Bumpside bezels. From what I see ford went to your style gauges in 70 or 71.
