First work is slow but paying the bills, I needed brakes and my bushings was shot to hell all around on my 2000 z28. I rebuilt the front and rear suspension ebc rotors and pads, Bilstein shocks, new z06 18 x9.5 rims and tires( almost 2k for all that stuff ). Two days after it was done I blow my trans (and I mean I blow it !!! I blow out the back of the case

) 2k for that ! (I had to get a whole new core as mine was dead )now I'm taped out!! than a week later not even 300 miles later I get a rod knock in my 2000 z28 .No money to fix that at this time (thinking 2k to 3k for motor new or used) so just have to save right!! wrong now my 68 truck gets a burn't valve .Now this is the last car I have running at this time. So I was looking to get a set of used heads and have them rebuilt or find a set rebuilt !! This is I can still drive my truck to do what needs to be done before its done ! Well on the search for some heads at a small yard ( II have been here before and he is cheep ) I found a 71 bump with a FE and a straight 67 grille .I wanted to see the # on the heads but could not see them so as I was walking up to the front to ask carb cleaner I saw a ls1 and trans sitting on the ground! Ok I look at it ..it all looks good but I 'm thinking yeah he's going to ask 2500 to 3000 for the combo so I walked on to ask for the cleaner not saying any thing about that motor! I asked how much for the heads ..he said 50 for ea. head .Well I get back to the truck to look at the # and did'nt like so I got the grille and the small side trim that goes on the bump along side of the truck as it was straight as well.I put the grille and trim and some other odds and ends in the back of the truck ( he let me drive it in)and drove up front. I told him they wasn't the heads I need but got this things in the bed how much. He said 40 for every thing I handed it to him fast!!Well the ls1 one was in front of us so I had to ask for s#%ts and gets...I asked how much and I only need the motor ..Only the motor he's said mmmm $650..(I was thinking to my self is this guy dumb!! ) how many miles on it he goes I think it was 110k or 120k I well be back in two days! I went home and the fast cash I could come up with was my crushed aluminum cans( I have been saving for some time)I did not want to do this but I cashed them all in! $845 for them all ( yes I was like WTH)so I bought the motor! Well a week later I was at another yard looking for some heads and shoot the 71 f250 truck I saw three weeks ago in pick yard now (I seen them put out front to sell for 1200 and it ran good). I got the whole motor for $220 !! Ok so I have two motors on the cheep things are looking up .I get the 390 on the other stand to clean her up ,and put all new gaskets on it and paint it( why not).Ok now its Saturday I'm getting the oil, and what not, going to store for food as I may be down two days( I like to clean every thing before putting a motor back in).Well come back home to get started .. at 11:10 a.m. some mother %%$$%^ pulled out in front of traffic making a left every one on the brakes so not to hit her . And my truck punched her 2013 VW 4dr( 2mos. old) hard on the dr side rear door.. Shoot there goes my day. ( my upper back neck, and rt arm hurt)we both have ins. we did all that stuff I went home call my ins ..

well I still pulled the old motor and put the new one in by Monday (labor day ) and it ran bitch'en . well the adjuster came out wed. looked at it I and it was 1700 to fix by a shop. I thinking I going to have to fight to keep them from salvaging it and they said no we're not doing that!! ( that's a first) Now its Thursday I drove down to Burbank for a job .Coming home from it getting on the I5 there was a smokey haze behind me WTH so I pulled off I got out looked under the truck and trans fluids running out of the bellhousing ( what's next) that was $250 tow( AAA all used up )home. Will its home and Friday and *%^^ I can't pull the trans out the bottom( we all know why) so out goes the motor to fix the front cruise o matic seal and put the 390 back in again!!
ok its the next week I get the 1700 +125 check to fix the truck ..so I buy paint and used 5 slot rims ($80)for the truck that's all ( I have the rest
). I than bought the gaskets for the ls1 I still had yet to do! I now pulled the old ls1 out and putting the new one in. Well I go to a tire shop( I been going to this one for yrs.)and swap out the sets and striped 3 lugs putting the mag on axle ( #@!ing nobi ).Well I was going to look at the swb that I posted in the want adds .and my bead blows out on the rim going 60. well no spare middle of nowhere and I was lucky my friends dad lived around that nowhere area and my other truck was at his house for a spare. I called him for help (got crap for it )well got home praying as that tire was all cracked out.I went back to that shop the next morning to show them that they ripped a bead and they put a new tire on itjust none stop ..
