Re: Look what followed me home!
Very good looking car wearing a killer color. Kudos to you for getting that deal done. I know what it is like to buy one and have to sell one just as fast. Usually I don't have too much trouble unloading cars though. Not around here anyway in the price range I deal in. It is all about your ad. That Firebird should go quickly seeing that the weather is cooling down and you can actually use a convertible. What is funny is that is my wife's favorite car. I bought her a hotwheels version that sits on her nightstand. It is more of a aqua color. I had a 67 Lemans that was that aqua color. She liked it but she said it was no fairlane. Again, congrats on the car. It looks really good.

Re: Look what followed me home!
Well, the Firebird pulled out of my driveway for the last time this past Saturday evening and now resides in Vancouver, Washington. For a couple years anyway until the buyer retires and then it will be relocated to Arizona. But he drove it from SoCal all the way to Washington with the top down all the way. He said it drove like a dream and it made the trip with no problems. I knew it would as I only put 5k miles on the rebuilt motor and tranny and always took care of it. Anyway, it went to a good guy who will enjoy it. So I am happy. I got a fair price for it so I cant complain and now I have the Fairlane which is a hell of a lot faster than my bird was... Wife aint happy, but I sure am!
Now I just need to finish up my truck so I can start putting money in the Fairlane. It looks pretty on the outside and runs strong, but it needs some interior work and I need to rewire the entire car to fix 46 years of hacks and splices that make no sense and force me to keep a fire extinguisher close. Shouldn't be long though as my truck is getting color on it this week (Dark Highland Green). I should have it back in a few weeks hopefully and then the reassembly can start!
The color on the Fairlane is Ford Dark Moss Green which was the factory color for this car. I got the Marti report and it was painted factory color with the factory white stripe. It has olive green interior out of a 66 Fairlane in it right now, but when I re-do it, it will be in black like it came from the factory with the proper 67 covers.
Looks like I am going to have 2 dark green Fords parked side by side, but at least they are not the same dark green. I had already planned to get the truck in Dark Highland Green and the Fairlane just happened to be Dark Moss Green. Oh well... Lucky for me that green is my favorite color!
Oh, and the Firebird was not "stock". That was originally sold as a 326 car and I did a 400 clone when I restored it. It had a 400 out of a 72 GTO in it and had a TH400 trans. So other than the 69 color, the cloth top, and the wheels, it appeared to be a stock 67 400 in every other aspect other than some minor motor stuff. Had a huge cam in it, edelbrock manifold, HEI, etc... But still, the 390 4speed Fairlane is a lot faster than that 400 was. I am sure it is the way the tranny was built in the bird, but this Fairlane pulls!!

Re: Look what followed me home!
Beautiful car!! The interior in my car is decent, but whoever re-did it last, did it with a 66 interior. I am going to re-do the entire inside of the car in proper 67 interior and in black. Right now, it is an olive green color.
