Today my 13 yr old and I were out putting a battery in the Bump to move it around for snowplow season. I park it out back. No need for it in the winter.
So we put in the battery and i tell him to grab me a 1/2" wrench. He pauses, and says, "oh yeah, the bumpside sizes".
After moving the truck, and a few cords of firewood. He asked me a question i don't have the answer to....
Are all bumpsides built around the world...ie: Australia, South America, ect..assembled with ASE hardware?
I would find it very odd to grab metric wrenches to work on my '72. However it may be just as odd for someone in Adelaide to grab SAE wrenches to work on there bump.
So whats the verdict Worldwide Fordification members ?

Re: Nuts and Bolts question.
I'll take my SAE any day. I made it all the to high school beating my brains learning the American way of measurements and when done with school it all started to change to metric. Being in the custom cabinetry biz i sure hope they don't switch to metric system on blueprints for cabinets, if so, i will be in bad shape. I guess old school works for me.

Re: Nuts and Bolts question.
The only metric part on my truck is the 3G alternator I stole from a '97 Taurus. It's the great thing about my truck and my job; the truck is so old that metric was still just a European thing, and Boeing planes are still built in inches. Only need one set of tools too.

There is a guy here who is in Brazil with a bump built there. Maybe he will see this and be of help.

Re: Nuts and Bolts question.
Id doubt ford would go though the trouble of completely redesigning the truck just to have metric bolts. the only difference between the 2 should be the right hand steering and the engine options. Think about it. Did Honda, Toyota, Subaru, vw or any other foreign companies change their stuff to SAE when they imported them to America? Nope.
