Well, there was a time when I first started driving, that I wanted to build a V-8 Vega or a V-8 Pinto. I even thought about stuffing a 318 or 360 Mopar V-8 into a Plymouth Arrow (remember those?). Luckily, I came to my senses. Although, no doubt, any of those would have been a fun car, I probably would've killed myself with it. Besides, I wouldn't have had the skill or the cash to be able to have finished a project like that back then anyway, which was the real reason that I didn't try it.

Well ok not really quirky,
but in the garage right now sits a 52 Willys Overland pickup with a custom built 14 inch extended cab. It sitting on a 94 Chevy K2500 3/4 ton frame
and running gear all complete with the big block 454 and the 4L80E transmission, corporate 14 bolt full floater rear end and air bag rear suspension.
seats came out of a 79 Sirocco Ricarro and the power tilt and slide moonroof came out of a 88 toyota celica!

yeah i think it is better with the 454/4L80E instead of the hurricane 4 cylinder and T90 transmission it came with stock.
giving you a maximum outrageously insane top speed of........45 MPH ..turning 3500 RPM! Ok, put the Borg Warner overdrive in so now you can do...55MPH!
has custom rock valley 35 gallon aluminum fuel tank that helps us out with the 8 MPG city 11 MPG highway mileage! Ok so 3.05 a gal x 35 gals ...you do the math!
she drives like a tank and corners like it is on rails!

Back in the 80's I sold a very pumped Dodge 440 (dyno'd at 450hp)to a guy who was going to put it in a Pinto wagon.
My DD is a F-350 former ambulance with Zombie Apocalypse decals all over it.
Earlier this year, before I bought my 250, I was looking at a 1957 Edsel wagon that had no engine and was thinking of putting a 6.7 PowerStroke in it.
I think the idea of putting an EcoBoost in an MG would be good (if anything, it would fix the electrical issues  ).
Back in the 90's I had the idea of putting some form of turbo'd FWD drive train in a Nash Metro.
Last year the local children's shelter had a give away of a Rambler with a 90's 5.0 Cobra drive train in it.

Let's face it, these days it's nearly common to see an LS, 5.0, Coyote or Cummings in anything.
What takes it to a "dare to be different" level is putting something else in a vehicle.
