help with axle tag decod.

Pulled off my differential on a ford 9"
From top left
WDM-AC 2ED
3.25 9. 334A

I recognise 3.25 as ratio 9 as ring gear size but 334A and the top row no clue.

The WDM-AC is the information the Ford parts counter guy would have used for giving the correct service parts for the rear end.

Best I can figure the 334A was some internal Ford assembly line code that would have meant something to the assembly line workers putting the rear end together. I've never been able to find any information explaining or cross referencing what these alpha-numerics mean.

The 2ED is the build date for the rear end assembly. 2=year, 1972. E=month, May. D= the 4th week of the month. So, the rear end was assembled the 4th week of May, 1972.
