Chassis Swap
I am planning to convert my '72 from long to short in the near future.A local yard has a '77 short frame for only $150 and I was wondering if this is a easy swap or should I pass and try to find a '67-'72 frame.Given the low cost I am willing to do any minor mods that may need to do the swap. What do you guys think?

Re: Chassis Swap
Not sure of the specifics, but the 77 frame is a different width than the bumpside frame. I believe it is narrower but I could be wrong and it could be wider. Either way, it is different. The swap can be done but it is not as easy as a straight bolt on. There will have to be some modifications made. I am sure someone will chime in with more specifics.

Re: Chassis Swap
Thanks.I have heard that there was a difference but I have no idea what other than the gas tank mounting. If the frame is a different width and the body mounts dont line up then I am going to look elsewere for a chassis.I was looking for something that could be done in a weekend without extensive modifications.
