is it meant to be a brake warning hooked to the differential brake switch?

i would hook it up to always on and write 'check engine' on it so my wife could drive my truck. she's confused by the fact that my truck doesn't have a check engine light on in it like all our other vehicles.

CEL :) My daughter drove her car around for a couple of days with OIL light on and then asked me "What does this mean?"

Of course, the original purpose would be best but you could also wire it up to your back up light switch so you know you're going backwards instead of forward.

I was thinking when I paint my cab I could fill the original hole for the brake light and use this light. Although I like the first reply.

If you were building a Hot Rod, that would make a cool shift light!
