So I got a steering column today finally. Drove 500 miles round trip to get one I found on craigslist. It's a manual steering 3spd column from a 69, with a busted up original wheel. After months of trying to find the one I wanted I broke down and decided to just go get this one and take the shift linkage and such out, and just run it. So basically I drove a tired truck 500 miles to buy a questionable part for another tired truck, all so that I can cruise around town with sketchy 45 year old technology and suck down expensive gas... .... Must be a sickness.

With all that said and done, you will run across one in your local area without even looking. At least that is the way it goes for me .

Yep, and hopefully my wife doesn't find out when that happens. She was not pleased with my little adventure today, but I told her it was the only way. Haha.

I had to get up early one morning and drive a little over an hour and meet a guy to buy some parts (Thanks, Brandon!). My wife thought I was nuts. She'd have been really ticked if she knew how much I paid even though it was an incredible steal at that price.

thats awesome. yup, we all do this from time to time, just gotta have it. once drove twelve hours round trip to buy a homelite chainsaw cause I wanted the pull starter off of it.
