Re: Bumps At Work!
I am enjoying it. I don't plan a total restoration. It is a work truck. If it is too pretty then I would not want to get it dirty.

Re: Bumps At Work!
That was my plan too. Since the new owner has taken my old truck apart I have seen just how much work it needed just to preserve it. The northeast is pretty hard on vehicles.abe wrote:I am enjoying it. I don't plan a total restoration. It is a work truck. If it is too pretty then I would not want to get it dirty.
Yours looks pretty nice in the pics. I hope you can keep it that way.

Re: Bumps At Work!
Delivered 4 cords of fire wood for a VFW raffle.
4BT pulled great...no drag truck but it pulled even in 5th.

Re: Bumps At Work!
Four trips...they were Heavy cords, (cord plus). We dont want any rumor started about the VFW shorting anyone on our raffles, makes for selling raffle tickets harder.
There were four of us so it made the job easier and we had some good fun while doing it.
In case anyone is wondering.
Cord= 4ft x 4ft x 8ft or 128 SqFT

Re: Bumps At Work!
A full cord in a pickup is a big load for sure. I don't know what kind of wood you have out there in Oregon, but here in the Northeast a cord of Red Oak could be just under 5000lbs. A workout for any light truck.

Re: Bumps At Work!
We were running five rick to a load, so in the picture it short one more row of wood, that had already been off loaded.
The wood we delivered was Red Fir that had seasoned 8 months, so it was pretty light. I'd bet the load was somewhere between 3500 and 4500 lbs.
Now when I was hauling the same would out of the mountains that was a different story, it was heavier due to being wet and we were loading heavier. I was coming in with 5000lbs plus loads.
This was one of the first loads, by the end we were mounding it over the top of the wood racks. Each load was roughly 1.5 cords. That poor Dodge of mine got a worK OUT.
We ended up hauling out over 30 cords.
