A Story We Can All Relate To

Post by TexasTruck72 »

I recently found this beautifully written story about one man's 1969 F-100. It was no show truck, but a truck like so many of us have or have had at some time in our lives. I think one of the reasons our trucks strike such a chord with so many people, is the stories and bonds we have made through our trucks. Whether its childhood memories, learning to drive, buying your first vehicle, or taking on a restoration, trucks are a constant theme in our lives. Especially old Ford trucks that seem to last forever(several decades at least). Take a minute and look at this neat story about a 1969 F-100. I really love all the photos, new & old, that the author found of his old truck.

I'm a young person, so I can't exactly relate to the time when our trucks were relatively new, but through talking to the original owner of my truck and carrying on the history upon making it my own project, I can relate.

Found that interesting enough to read the whole thing. I think it would be cool to know if the tobacco stains was still on dash. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing, one of my favorite things about old cars is the story they carry with them. Being a younger guy, I fit in toward the end of this particular story. I only know half my own trucks story, sometimes I wish knew all of it but I'm sure it will have many more to tell in the years to come while driving and restoring it.

I have always wondered the history of my rides. I think about the joy and pride the original owner must have had when they first drove it off the lot. Makes a man wonder where it must have been. The only history I know about mine is a sticker on the tailgate that has a car dealers name in Michigan, and the keychain it came with is from a diner in virginia. "Chesterfield Diner A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE MEET & EAT" RR 360 & Genito Rd. I often wonder if it once belonged to someone on here. After it's life in Virginia it apparently ended up in Ohio where my friend bought it. Then it took a flatbed ride here to the outskirts of Pittsburgh.

Call me sentimental but I think its horribly sad to get to the end and know he sold it off... after all those years in the family you'd think he wouldn't just get rid of it when it no longer suits his needs...
then again I might be a vehicle hoarder...
