:D  NICE!!! How did you mount it there? In the picture, I don't see any drilled holes or bolts.

I still don't have a truck together to put mine on, but I am torn between two different mounting ideas. I am either going to drill 2 holes in the top corners of my plaque and hang it under my rear bumper from 2 short chains, or I am going to drill a hole in each corner of the plaque and 4 holes in my bumper and mount it directly to my rear bumper on the drivers side. Leaning towards mounting it directly to the bumper but who knows... :hmm:

I first cut up an old cali license plate to use as a mounting bracket as it matched the factory bumper holes. Then drilled 2 holes in the top corners of the plate. Couple bolts and its mounted firmly. It's mounted flat and up a little to make it easily readable.

Got mine today, too! Looks great. Thanks, Rich! Unfortunately, after walking around my truck, I realized I had nowhere to put. So it goes in the workshop until such time as I have enough done on my truck to have a place to mount it.

Already have interest for 3 more plaques, so starting a list for a 2nd order. Once it reaches 10, I will collect money and get another run done. I wish I had this all under 1 thread... haha  But I wasn't thinking when I did it and have the ordering part of these things under the for sale section. Anyway, if anyone wants to get in on the 2nd order, express your interest here: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 32#p672832

Howdy!
I received my Bumpsiders plaques today. I ordered a painted and plain one. Below are pictures of the plaques in various locations. I haven't permanently mounted it yet. As to the craftsmanship of the plaques, they are substantial, not like a license plate, more like an indestructible whatchamabobber from 50 years ago. Heavy and thick. Now that I have mine, I can see that powder coating it will be fairly easy. My powder coating brain is in overdrive with ideas. The plaques are thick enough that I can coat it one color, then hit it lightly with some wet sand paper. That'll give the color to the plaque with the lettering, etc, being silver aluminum color. I can coat the lettering one color, maybe lay a base of grease over it after I bake it, then coat over the lettering with the color I want the background to be. My truck is going to be painted a deep metallic teal, similar to the lunar green it was painted originally, so I'm thinking I may bronze it first then powder coat the background whichever color will compliment the truck. Industrial Metal Supply near my house has a number of different techniques and chemicals to accomplish this.

Anyway, I have an oven big enough to coat my plaques, and I have about 12 different colors. If anyone wants theirs coated a different color or combination of colors, please drop me a line. I will post pictures of anything I powder coat.
Take care,
Joe

In the picture above, it looks like the best place to mount it would be where the Ranger emblem goes.
I'm on the second list so when I get mine I'll toy with that idea. Unless some one else does it.

Calfdemon wrote:Well folks, the plaques arrived today via UPS. They came out better than I had hoped, so I am very happy with them. Hopefully you guys will all be just as happy with them when you get yours. I will be packaging them all up this weekend will get them in Saturday's mail if I get done in time, but Monday is more likely.

In the meantime, here is how they came out. I put a ketchup packet next to it so you can see a size reference.

[ Image ]

They are about a quarter inch thick and you can drill holes in these for mounting or hanging with no problems.

I will update the thread when I get them all shipped out. Once I go through them all and get them packaged up, then I will know exactly how many extras I have and for those that wanted them, I will collect money at that time. I have a list of 4 right now that wanted one and I should be able to have one for each of you 4. After that, I am not so sure. Another order down the road however is not out of the question if there is enough interest. I might even front some of it to get the 10 plaque minimum so that there will be some for other members.
