Bumper Sticker Life Philosophy

Howdy!
We all sorta' live with these sayings we carry around on our vehicles. Many are false bravado or whatever was catchy at the time. Remember the "my honor student," and the inevitable "my delinquent kid," stickers? Like our word association thread game, I propose a Bumper Sticker Life Philosophy game. Here's the rules: you get ONE pick, it need not actually be a bumper sticker. For example, it could be an historical quote, a TV jingle or a lyric of a song. It HAS to be either the way you live life or the way you WANT to live life. Think carefully. Most people I play this game with are not clever, witty or deep thinkers, so they throw out the first thing that pops into their pretty little heads, like "Don't tread on me."

I'll go first, and I'll even explain my choice. If I had to live my life by one saying (and I try to live up to the following), bumper sticker or quote it is this: "You are what you do when it counts." The clever thing about this quote from the book Armor by John Steakley is that people readily agree with it, but then get caught up in, "Well, when does it count? When everyone's watching, death is on the line?" The extra clever thing about it is that I believe it ALL counts, even when no one is watching.

A funny one I have would top my list if it weren't so horribly tragic: "Be nice to America, our we'll bring democracy to your country."

I have so many. One of my personal sayings is "Perception is reality.". The way you are viewed is the way you are to the person viewing you. Don't believe it? Bust your tail all month long at work and then one time take an illegal smoke break, for 3 minutes. That's when the VP will walk by and see you. You'll spend the next 6 months with a reputation as a slacker. :doh:

whenever i see someone with stupid bumper stickers, my wife tells me 'imagine the look on that person's face while they were putting that on' and it always cracks me up.

i guess i don't much see the point, not many of my views can fit into a bumper sticker, but once i get the truck painted, i'll be collecting all my moto and travel related ones on the tailgate.

and in those cheezy stick-on mailbox letters 'DILLIGAF'

meaning 'does it look like i give a' you can figure out the rest. that one specifically intended for anyone behind me who objects to me driving my old truck at a speed appropriate for its age...

Well thinking outside of the rules of quotes, This man below is one of my biggest motivators right now. I bust ass in the gym every day an look up to his hard work an dedication to suceed in life.
