Im absolutely in love with my truck some how i came across a 1970 F250 Camper special Explorer Edition all original 93xxx miles, 360 4 speed granny gear tranny for a measly 5500 dollars in cash. Assuming the split rims are off now and i now have some all steel rims and some all terrains on it, the bed is now rhino lined and i recently replaced the exhaust and mufflers which were rusted to **** now has dual flowmaster 40 series mufflers dumped. anything else i could do to the truck? by the way im 18 and in the marine corps so money is okay but not rolling like rick ross or some shi....stuff like that
im looking to keep the engine and transmission nearly stock so it doesnt go down in value assuming its worth around 12xxx-18xxx but its got an RV size cam and the original carb intake oil bath air filter. anything i could do there to give it a little more pep and keep the original parts with it? its at about 230hp because i enlarged the exhaust pipes to 2.5 instead of 2 and added free flow mufflers
We'll, its an FE and they love rpm but need to breathe. The 330ft in my F-600 had an oil bath filter and it's gone now... Too much of a mess for my liking. Gonna fabricate a breather like the Fox Mustangs had and have it draw in from through the core support.
RV cams are good in a truck. Helps it out as a truck but it needs the intake and exhaust to accompany it. Stock manifold, carb, and log exhaust manifolds, don't help anything. Might consider a nice aftermarket carb and aluminum manifold as well as headers.
From a old Chief Swabby, thanks for your service. Enjoy the truck and keep on Trucking....John CPO USN Ret
