I took Frodo in this morning for an alignment. The tech set the toe-in, said the camber is off just a bit, but probably not enough to worry about. The truck does ride better now. :D

I removed all the u joints from my drive shafts on my 70 F250 4x4, which has been the dirtiest job I have worked so, including stripping of the frame to bare metal! I then dismantled the intermediate drive shaft (transmission to transfer case shaft), wire brushed it all to bare metal, pulled the yoke and painted it. Then my children came home and I ran out of shop time!

I am just glad it did at home but I got my polished aluminum radiator and it looks good but it cost lots of $$$$. To be exact half what I paid for the whole truck.

It is a sickness....we just can't help doing those things. I know my 68 has a market value way less $$$$$$ than I have put in it. But hey it is a pleasurable hobby.

Very true. Very true. If i could find my camera i might even take a picture of a very shiny silver radiator in a dirty old truck.

I finally actually get to post something in this thread. I went last Thursday down to Tennessee to pick it up. Rented a car, drove down, took 8 hours, napped before I met the seller for a couple hours. Got to the truck and received a lot of stories about the truck. (I bought it off of the original owner's son). Left Morristown Tn. About 9:30am. Drove for a couple hours and needed another nap. Slept for about 3 at one of the many, (and I do mean many), gas stations along the way. Got back on the road and about an hour later, POW!!!! left rear tire let go. They all had good tread but we're just old. I was closest to Georgetown Ky. so I found the nearest tire dealer, Tire Discounters. Great place, fast, courteous. $517.00 and about an hour 1/2 later I was on my way with a set of Goodyear Wrangler Radials. The rest of the trip was uneventful except all the stops for gas. The little 240 6cyl was drowning itself in gas. The carb needed rebuilt.
So far at home I've rebuilt the little Carter 1bbl,( the float was very misadjusted).
I removed the carpet from the doors the owner installed. I like the plain painted steel panels.
Plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. And just today I did the Petronix conversion installed a tach, and a new rear licence plate lamp
It still needs more of course, slight windshield leak, carpet, seatcover, am-fm Retro sound radio. Molding clips. Rub it out or wet sand it. Weatherstripping. The list is long. Oh yeah, gotta regap the plugs too
Henry helped pay for it all.

Started to clean and shine my chrome wheels. Then I decided it is time to get aluminum wheels like I had on my 73 Dent. May do that tomorrow. Think I will Truckport and fence the Bump in. Tired of the neighborhood dogs peeing on the wheels. I like dogs, but I don't care for dog owners that let their dogs loose to pee and s--- on other people's property. :x

Regapped my plugs, changed the oil and filter, replaced the valvecover gasket and removed my cracked dash pad. Looks better without it. Plan is to fill the holes and paint it. I'm going to make some of my own defroster vents. Either out of aluminum or steel. I'll mill some slots and they'll be flush with the dash. That's a plan anyway.
Henry helped pay for it all.

Well, for ever and ever the throttle wouldn't completely return to low idle after releasing it without kind of tapping the thing where the pedal used to be or kind of lifting it with your foot so I bought a new spring for the throttle linkage. But when I removed the old spring I simply tried bending the little hook on the end a little tighter and reinstalled the old spring. It works fine now! :D

I picked up these mid 90's F150 chromie stocks from the junkyard yesterday. Got the centercaps, too! They are in great shape and will polish up nicely. I've seen a few guys with these rims on their Bumps and they just look right. Can't wait to get some new rubber on em.
