Sliding Rear Window

Post by yabadaba »

Hi, I'm considering a sliding rear window for my 69 F100 and have seen these on both the LMC and NPD websites. Would be grateful for experiences/views on quality differences between these offerings?

Why not find an original? They are out there on camper specials. I have two and am thinking about putting one back in my truck.

I bought the one that LMC and NPD sells and it is very good quality. I ran it on my F250 and gave it to CNM67 when I got my crew cab as there is no use running it on my crew since I can't reach the rear window when driving. He now runs it on his 67 short bed. I had no regrets with it. Fit great, slid freely, and locked well. Was very waterproof as well as it did not leak anywhere with direct water being sprayed on it.

Thanks for the replies. So, are the ones that LMC and NPD sell the same, as it seems like Calfdemon is suggesting...from the same manufacturer? If so then I'd just go with whichever is cheapest. Also, I would consider an original, if someone was willing to sell one and it was in good condition.

I can not say for sure, but they are probably the same manufacturer. I cannot remember which place I ordered mine from. I prefer NPD as they tend to have better quality and their customer service is great, but I believe I may have purchased my window from LMC as part of a large order when I had my 72. I cannot say for certain, but I am almost sure I bought from LMC at that time. NPD is great though and I am certain you will get a good product from them if you go that route. More than likely the same manufacturer.
