My wife loves our 71' Highboy! In fact, when I found my Highboy for sale, she was the one that really pushed on getting her and was willing to pay full price for the truck just to get it. Of all the cars we have, she would let go of them all but would want to hang on to the old 71'. As much as the wife likes the Highboy, she does not drive it yet due to the fact that the truck does not have power steering making it hard for her to steer but one day I'll fix that for her. But as for other girls likeing it, I think it really depends on the area you live in. If you live in the big city, chicks may dig a Prius but up in the mountains or in small towns trucks are the way to go and the practical choice.

For years I used an F-600 steering wheel it is ~2" larger in dia. and made a big difference in steering effort, when I went diesel I added power steering If you would like to try it PM me it's yours for shipping.

My wife likes my 54 F100, my 70 F350, not so much. Her girl friends also like my 54. So maybe it has to do with the year or size or shape factor. For women it has to be cute.

So had to get on for my first post because of this topic.

I actually do get looks from women here in Los Angeles. A lot of guys but some women.

I have two trucks, 69 f100 shortbed, and a 69 f250 camper special.

I think its a few factors:

- Both of the trucks are in good to great shape. I think this is key. I don't think a woman is going to look twice if a vehicle is beat up.
- Trucks are a bit rare around where I live (west los angeles) especially old trucks.
- Lots of women here from all around the country so you get all tastes.
- Lastly California is a car/truck loving state. I think that there is a lot of appreciation for a good quality ride, even if its not to the taste of everyone. I am not sure what the take on Californians is outside of the state on vehicles out here but people* here are nuts about cars.

* don't mean everyone of course. Some people just don't get it. But by and large.

I went through a bank drive-through and the girl teller told me how much she loved my truck. She said, "That's beautiful. I'm a truck girl."

Oh, to be young and single again...

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in garages. (Apologies to Kenneth Grahame.)

My wife loves my 67 and encouraged me to buy it. My daughter, actually all my kids, love the old truck. My daughter nicknames everything (she's 12), and affectionately refers to the truck as "Johnboy" from the Waltons. My wife's friends all think it's really cool too. I referred to the primered truck as being "shabby-chic" and one woman flipped out and was very excited.

It blows my mind. I would have thought the comments would have been negative or neutral at best. 10-15 years ago it would have been considered an eyesore. Now it has a 'rat' look or retro.

Like John said, I have the '68 because I like it. But my daughter and her best friend think it's awesome and want to drive it.
