what are 2 round tabs behind windows ?

Post by thin41 »

Hello and thanks again for help - always.

What are the 2 round tabs, one on each side of my '69 F250, above and slightly behind the doors up high near the roof ?

They are about 1 inch square with one hole in it and spin around like on a rivet ?

The guy I bought it from did complete body repair and removed all chrome on the sides but left these 2 tabs. I can not imagine what they are for.

Any ideas ?

Pics?

If outside it sounds almost like where the old aftermarket handles would bolt on. If inside, then that's where the optional shoulder belts would be installed.

these are on the OUTSIDE - they look ugly - I'll probably drill the rivet out and remove them. Very strange though to me that the previous owner left them there and primed them too like the body ? I can take a picture if you like and post (worth more words).

Give me a moment and I'll post a picture of one side - same on both sides though.

Hang on.

I have no idea. Maybe some kind of roof rack or tie down. Not a good structural mount for a CB antenna.

PO was there...

Although the positioning is odd, I would guess it is a tie down point for a slide in camper...

Mine had odd tie downs on the cab when I got my truck. It did have a slide in camper on it before I got it. Someone had been living in my truck prior to me owning it. Apparently, they had been evicted.
