Post by fabrycatedmetal »

I cant get my 71 f100 with a 360 and factory 2100 2 barrel to run right and I know its the choke and carb causing it. I cant find anything anywhere about how to adjust the heat choke properly! its a new reman carb and I am so tired of atempting to tune it. please someone lead me in the right direction.

I've adjusted mine by waiting for a cool morning (when you need it most), and pulling the throttle open and adjusting the spring cup tighter just until you see the butterfly nearly fully closed, but open a hair. Vacuum should give you some flexibility once the engine turns over, and once heat plays its role, it will have an easy time returning to hot-run condition.

Edit: Also note the condition as it's heating, the air horn flap and heat/electrical to the choke cup, etc. It's definitely a hand-tuned thing.
