Murphy's Law

Post by Mancar1 »

Been living under the rule of Murphy's Law the past few days.
Yesterday when I went to do my 3 point seat belt install in the 68. The belts would not unlock so as per the instructions I took off the side cover to reset them. Easy right? Yes unless u remove the wrong side cover. The darn spring flew off right into my face. Soooo glad I had on safety glasses, only wounded my pride. After letting the spring kick my backside for 30 minutes or so I called Welder Joe's tech support. Chris told me to mail it back and they will repair or replace it at no cost to me.
Got the 2nd one working. Opened the right cover. Don't have to hit me in the face but once for me to learn. Went to install the 2nd belt and, yup, I need L brackets so it is positioned properly. Got em coming.
Today decided to install rear slider I ordered from LMC. Glad fit was checked with gasket before removing rear window. Gasket was way to big.
Sending the gasket back to LMC after they kept insisting they sent the right stock # one. Yes they did, but the made in crap land gasket is still to BIG :x
So replacing fuel pump and oil filter block gasket when I notice antifreeze all over the pretty chrome. thermatstat housing cracked. Got some clean up to do after repairs are done.
While writing this I just got a call from the local water works district. I have a ruptured water main at the cemetery!!!!!!
Well the 68 will have to wait.....On the road again. :hd: All in all I am Blessed  Off and running :drive:
Just got home from repairing the water main at cemetery and was going to get fuel pump installed on the 68. Have had this Napa fuel pump on the shelf in my shop for 4 years  Looked right, but wrong pump  Called Napa and was told. No problem bring it on in and trade it for the right one. :D How about that
I am soooo glad that this was not a typical day :yip:
Keep on Trucking.....John

Roger that! And in His wisdom he knows that if we did we would never reach our full potential.
